Plant-Based

All of our CAMP frames are crafted with a plant-based bioplastic, This unique material offers a more sustainable alternative to petroleum-based plastics, resulting in reduced environmental impact.

Born from a seed

Prized for its resistance to drought and low use of resources, the seeds of a castor plant are harvested as our hero ingredient.

Pressed into oil

The castor seeds are then pressed to produce a dense oil rich in fatty acids. Castor oil has been widely used for thousands of years due to its rich and unique ricinoleic acid content.

Formed into pellets

Through the process of polymerization (the combining of small molecules to create a large chainlike molecule), the oil is turned into plastic pellets called polymer.

Cast into molds

The polymer is then injected into our signature CAMP molds, resulting in strong, lightweight, and ultra-comfortable frames.

Climate Neutral

We offset our entire 2021 footprint by purchasing carbon credits to fund climate change solutions. We supported four projects projects focused on advancing renewable energy generation, and forest conservation around the world. Each project is independently verified, ensuring they effectively protect our climate.

Perfect

Absolutely love these sunglasses! Perfect fit, unique, classy and stylish. Wood grain compliments the frame color very well. Can’t forget to mention the sleeping bag case, it’s the little things that make these shades top notch. I will definitely be buying more.

Great Sunglasses!

I just purchased the Camp Glacier glaseses and I love them! They fit great and look good, a great addition for my sunglasses choices!

Tortoise, glacier

I have been wearing shwood sunglasses since 2010. The first pair I ordered was the walnut canby. As an arborist and woodworker I instantly fell in love. I have since bought another 11 pairs. I have always been impressed with the quality and style. Recently though I’ve been a little disappointed.

When I ordered the glacier cabby’s the color was listed as moss and appeared green on the website. After receiving them they were more of a drab brown color. I was also disappointed that there was no glacier branding on the sunglasses themselves. A National Park logo would have been a great addition to these sunglasses but unfortunately they’re just a pair of brown sunglasses.

I also recently purchased a pair of the camp tortoise sunglasses. Was really disappointed with this pair. Once again they aren’t tortoise shell in appearance at all. The acetate looks brown with no pattern whatsoever. I’m still a fan but a little disappointed with some of the recent designs.

It would also be nice if more focus was put into the wood originals. This was the reason I first purchased a pair but I haven’t seen a new style or wood listed in a long time. Please remember your roots and give me some new variety in the wood canbys.

Thanks,
Austin Lieburn
