Francis Metal

I have owned a bunch of pairs of Shwood sunglasses, either acetate or wood, and this is my first pair of metal frames. The fit and finish of these seems to be even better than my other pairs, with the wood inlay looking extremely clean. The ear and nose pads are high quality and comfortable, and the lenses are the usual high quality Shwood product. I am impressed and will be ordering more.

I thought that these would be a more premium version of the wood Francis, but a couple things let me down. 1) There is wood, but there is much less of it and what is there is clearly more superficial, just being a tiny strip along each arm. 2) The lenses are essentially clamped in place and where that clamp occurs (near the hinges) there is a seam that is much more obvious in person than it is in pictures.
Nevertheless, on clearance, I was impressed with the value. The nose pads are color matched metal, not cheap clear plastic, the whole package feels substantial and premium. Despite the praises, I think I still prefer the original Francis in wood.

I had previous pair of the sunglass.. was very happy and lost it.. Then I bought a new pair which have some gap issue between glass and frame
